Program Overview:

St.

Amant Respite and Family Support Services offers out of home respite options for families with children who have significant disability-related care needs and who do not have the necessary resources to implement a self-managed respite plan and who may require a longer break than other supports can provide.


The 24 hour shift staffed home provides planned and regular out of home respite for children & youth ages years who are not in care and are living with intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or Autism.

This comprehensive service also provides enhanced support to families and their children which may include occupational therapy, behavioral supports training and counselling, with the goal of strengthening families' abilities to continue to parent their children at home.


Position Summary:


Working as part of a team, the Behaviour Analyst works within a family-centered practice to strengthen resiliency and support an individual or a family by providing a safe, confidential and encouraging environment to empower decision-making and to overcome challenging situations.

The Behaviour Analyst actively supports all program initiatives designed to strengthen services and program integrity.

The Behaviour Analyst is responsible for evaluating effectiveness and efficiency of interventions to ensure outcomes that are positive and beneficial to families.


Position Summary and Scope of Service:

  • The Behaviour Analyst provides services in accordance with the Mission and Values of St.

Amant, policies and procedures of the assigned Program(s), external legislation and regulatory bodies and all relevant professional standards of practice.

The Behaviour Analyst is familiar with and promotes a "customer service focus" in the provision of services to clients, staff and in other professional relationships.


  • As an active team member in the Program(s) assigned, the Behaviour Analyst participates in continuous quality improvement activities, including the development, modification and implementation of service and program goals, objectives, policies, procedures and standards. The Behaviour Analyst uses service evaluation feedback to purposefully and continually strengthen services. The Behaviour Analyst actively supports all program initiatives designed to strengthen services and program integrity.
  • An understanding of First Nations peoples and multicultural group issues, customs, cultures, trauma issues and cultural oppression would be an asset
  • Knowledge of community resources and how to make use of them
  • The Behaviour Analyst works within the context of the interdisciplinary team to implement direct, consultative or mediated models of service. The Behaviour Analyst supports a clientcentred approach to service or familycentred practice when applicable. The Behaviour Analyst promotes processes which contribute to self determination and the development of skills and competencies of individuals and care providers. This pertains to all areas of intervention including assessments, treatment, and implementation of service. The Behaviour Analyst is responsible for evaluating effectiveness and efficiency of interventions to ensure outcomes that are positive and beneficial to clients.
  • The Behaviour Analyst performs all duties professionally, ethically and with integrity. The Behaviour Analyst takes an active role and personal responsibility for continuous learning to promote knowledge and best practices. The Behaviour Analyst participates in staff development opportunities, research and maintains all professional registration and continuing education requirements.
  • The Behaviour Analyst is familiar with social policy, issues, trends, best practices in the field, needs, gaps or opportunities which may improve the lives of persons with disabilities, or which promote social justice, equity or accessibility.
  • The Behaviour Analyst is familiar with and adheres to all policies related to risk management and those of workplace activity, promotes and follows all safe, healthy and respectful workplace practices.

Qualifications:


Educational:


  • Possess an M.A. or M.Sc. degree in Psychology from an accredited university with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Professional:


  • Certification by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst

Clinical:


  • Posses a comprehensive knowledge of behavioural analysis theory and practice relevant to the support, assessment, treatment, and training of persons with a developm
