We are looking for a
Client Relations Assistant to support the Qtrade Guided Portfolios Project, so if you're passionate about improving people's financial health and have experience supporting a wealth management team, we'd like to hear from you


What's the role?


As a
Client Relations Assistant, under general supervision and within established guidelines, you will be responsible to provide administrative and sales support activities to our team of Consultants and clients in order to develop, build, maintain, attract, and expand relationships.

As the
Client Relations Assistant you will provide friendly, professional service in an efficient, financially responsible manner.

In addition, you must be a self-motivated individual who has the ability to identify and resolve situations independently or with limited guidance and multitask within a high functioning team.


Your duties will include:

  • Follow up on security transactions, transfers, periodic plans, and all other transactional paperwork as required.
  • Handle and resolve all aspects of client service related issues whether incoming or outgoing including follow up on transactional issues, booking appointments, and other related tasks as required.
  • Work with Consultants and Senior Client Relations Assistants to complete complex documentation such as estate documentation with Executors/Beneficiaries/Accountants/Lawyers, Stock Certificates, Swaps, Trust & Estate, etc.
  • Meet existing and prospective clients' needs by actively listening, promoting, and crossselling all Wealth Management products as well as Coastal Community's full product and services offerings.
  • Pursue business development opportunities by identifying and acting upon leads through sales and marketing campaigns, telemarketing, networking, community and business related endeavours.
  • Prepare professional correspondence and reports including meeting preparation documents and input into financial planning software.
  • Support a paperless office environment by imaging and storing documents as per processing standards.
  • Input and maintain CRM software.
  • Once licensed and within departmental guidelines, process security related transactions with written authorization from the Consultant/Manager.
  • Actively participate in team meetings.
  • Perform reception duties as required.
  • Perform related duties as required.

What are we looking for?

  • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook and will be eligible to be IIROC licensed as an Investment Representative within six months of their start date.
  • A minimum 2 years investment industry experience and 1 year financial services experience are required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required and CRM software.
  • Thrives in an energetic, ambitious, resultsoriented sales environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving superior results
Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with:

  • Familiarity with all Credit Union products and services, a proven track record of identifying and acting upon opportunities, and the ability to refer business to other Credit Union business lines to build client relationships.
  • Enjoy working with the public, be professional in appearance and be capable of providing on the job guidance to others.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to articulate in a clear, concise manner are required to transfer information and understanding to members and influence nonmembers to join Coastal Community Credit Union. Interviewing skills and the ability to ask analytical and thorough questions are required.

In addition, the incumbent will:

  • Have freedom to work within a team under broad direction rather than direct supervision. This position requires the ability to independently seek resources and guidance to fulfill responsibilities.
