LEGAL COUNSEL (Telecommute)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide contract reviews and legal advice to the Critical Infrastructure Business Unit on proposals, contracts, and operational matters.
- Assist negotiating the most favorable terms and conditions with prospective and current clients while achieving company objectives. Identify risks and contractual terms not conforming to Company policy.
- Participate in strategic planning activities for the Critical Infrastructure Business Unit (e.g., risk assessment, bid/no bid analysis, participation in business plan development, etc.).
- Analyze legal matters arising in connection with project pursuit or execution, and as otherwise raised by management, and provide advice and counsel based upon research and acquired legal experience.
- Negotiate and/or oversee the negotiation of various types of contracts, including but not limited to nondisclosure agreements, teaming agreements, prime contracts, joint venture agreements, environmental remediation contracts, and software license agreements.
- Provide advice and assistance with construction / engineering / environmental and technology claims and disputes with contractors, owners, and subcontractors.
- Negotiate technology elements related to construction and engineering contracts, including BIM agreements and software licensing agreements.
- Maintain an active participation in related professional societies to keep abreast of relevant contractual/legal issues.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) required
- Requires a working knowledge of industry business practices and experience negotiating a variety of contracts arising within the Critical Infrastructure Business Unit, including but not limited to nondisclosure agreements, prime contracts, teaming agreements, joint venture agreements, project management agreements, environmental and environmental remediation contracts, technology and technology licensing agreements, and related contracts.
- Minimum 3+ years of related work experience in the construction, engineering, environmental fields is required.
- Must be capable of identifying and mitigating risk exposure in, and negotiating contracts in, the fields of engineering, construction, environmental remediation.
- Experience working with engineering or technology product teams or negotiating complex agreements with technology partners is highly desirable.
- Must possess superior management and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills, and a working knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with contract management and administration.
- Must be driven to learn and understand the technical and legal elements that impact the Critical Infrastructure Business Unit and to become a trusted advisor to the various stakeholders within the Critical Infrastructure Business Unit.
- Bilingual in French-Desired
