Your Opportunity:

Coordinate customer service requests, forward applicable requests to couriers and coordinate pickup and delivery times. Establish and maintain positive client relations through a professional manner and high quality of services performed. Maintain consistent communication with Supervisors with a priority on customer satisfaction. Completes and submits all administrative forms in a timely fashion. Maintain route schedules and makes recommendations to department leadership to effectively manage stops. Ensures all staff have the necessary equipment in good working order to execute their daily responsibilities.

Maintains company vehicles to keep them in a safe, reliable and presentable condition, performs vehicle accident support and ensures company vehicle safety checks are completed.

Keeps accurate vehicle maintenance and repair records. Troubleshoots and problems solves as required.


Description:


As a Transportation Service Representative, your role will be to deliver and pick up a range of products including, but not limited to, mail, specimens, lab supplies, mail, and blood products to and from Rapid Response Labs, Patient Care Centres, and client offices in a timely manner and according to an established routine, in accordance with APL standards, regulations and policies.

Working independently, you must use appropriate storage methods to maintain integrity of cargo. You must adhere to all safe driving regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures. Maintenance of vehicles as well as coolers and transport boxes is also involved.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must hold a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator's Licence.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Above average organizational, interpersonal, and judgement and decision-making skills are required. Driving skills must be above average. Must be knowledgeable in the safe transport of medical specimens, dangerous goods and bio-medical waste.


Preferred Qualifications:

Previous courier driving experience is an asset. Dispatch experience is an asset. A good understanding of client needs and our contractual agreement/responsibilities. Above average knowledge and understanding of automobile operation and service requirements.
