Technical Coordinator, Marine Electronics
Victoria, BC

Archipelago is seeking an organized and motivated individual to work with the delivery of our electronic monitoring programs throughout Coastal BC.


WHAT KIND OF WORK CAN YOU EXPECT?

  • Coordinate assembly, manufacture, and Quality Assurance of Electronic Monitoring (EM) equipment
  • Prepare peripheral component assemblies; verify and test products in accordance with manufacturing documentation
  • Manage Bill of Material releases to support product evolution
  • Engage in the design process, participate in manufacturability reviews to identify efficiencies during product design.
  • Support component traceability through assembly and manufacture
  • Create a customer support ticketing system
  • Maintain inventory tracking and shipment records
  • Warranty management on products and peripherals
  • Managing the EM lease pool equipment
  • Maintain product price list
  • Install and service electronic monitoring equipment on board commercial fishing boats
  • Customer relations and equipment sales to established fishery clients
  • Assist with training of both local and remote field staff
  • Occasional travel to various ports in BC for coverage and training needs
  • Support field and port staff around BC and our US and Australia ports to enable high quality fisheries monitoring and teamwork with Port Supervisors and coworkers in other locations to exchange information and problem solve.
  • Serve as the point of contact concerning the field and office operations.

WHAT DO YOU OFFER?

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent workplace experience (minimum two years) in a technical environment.
  • Experience working with computer networking, electronic hardware, and hardware troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with quality management standards supporting change control and manufacturing in a technical environment
  • Professional experience with hand tools and understanding of basic electrical circuits
  • A great attitude with strong communication skills
  • Able to work independently, follow procedures, and plan work to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to provide leadership and work well in a team
  • Capable of climbing ladders up to 25 feet to board fishing vessels
  • Must have a valid BC Driver License with a reliable vehicle
  • Experience scheduling and supervising staff

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • The anticipated salary range for this role is $55,000 to $65,000 based on experience.
  • 3 weeks paid vacation (prorated for the first year)
  • The position is based on an average of 37.5 hours per week
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the US

$55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
