CRA's National Employment Equity (EE)

Staffing Strategy strives to eliminate EE gaps for the four EE designated groups:

Where an EE gap exists at the time of appointment, EE may be used as an appointment criterion for permanent and temporary appointments over six months made through this process.

The key activities of an AU0133 Large File Auditor include:

  • Conducts extensive analyses and reviews for the auditing of high and/or medium rated, highly complex and sensitive corporate cases (primary and controlled files) with multifaceted computerized accounting systems specific to each industry.
  • Researches highly complex statutes administered by the Agency, legal cases, Agency publications and policies, as well as economic and industryspecific information from sources outside the Agency in order to arrive at audit conclusions on highly complex issues.
  • Discusses proposed adjustments, penalty recommendations, and resolution of highly complex technical and significant audit issues with the taxpayers/representatives.
The pools established from this staffing process may be used to staff similar positions.

Please note that this process will be used to staff positions in Calgary and Edmonton, AB only.

As a result, if you are selected for a position from this process we will expect you to relocate to this location.

Virtual reporting may not be possible.


Qualified members and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces who receive an offer of employment are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA.

They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.


Essential staffing requirements
To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements.


Education

  • The CRA's minimum education standard for AU-Auditing group

Experience
Have a minimum period of eighteen (18) cumulative months of experience within the last three (3) years in one or more of the following:1) Performing one or more of the following job duties with large and/or complex corporations* in public practice, industry or other government agencies:

  • Conducting and/or managing Canadian commodity tax audits
  • Providing tax advice under the Excise Tax Act or Provincial Statues for commodity tax
AND/OR

2) Performing one or more of the following job duties with large and/or complex corporations* within an AU-03 level or higher at the Canada Revenue Agency:

  • Conducting and/or managing GST/HST audits
  • Performing duties ancillary to GST/HST audit*
  • Large and/or complex corporations generally refer to entities with gross revenue exceeding $100 million, however each example you provide will be assessed on a casebycase basis for its relative complexity.
**Duties ancillary to GST/HST audit within the Canada Revenue Agency may include, but are not limited to, experience in GST/HST Audit, Digital Computer Audit Specialist, GST/HST Business Intelligence & Quality Assurance, GST/HST Appeals, and Legislative Policy and Regulatory Affairs for the purposes of administering and/or enforcing the Excise Tax Act.
