This is a 4 Month Contract Position starting May 1, 2023 ending August 31, 2023.

This position will focus on Youth Programs inclusive of working in our Active Kids Club and as a Camp Councillor.


The Youth Program Associate are zealous about cultivating a quality childcare program for the members of Altea Active and our community.

They create a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for children ranging from six weeks of age to 12 years old that address each child's unique needs, while effectively communicating with parents.

You are a customer oriented, friendly, energetic and outgoing professional who has a serious knack for creating youth programs.

You are creative in building, arranging, and implementing various programs, activities and events for children and youth in a safe and fun environment.

As a Playroom Associate a typical day might include the following:

  • Meeting and greeting a tonne of familiar and unfamiliar faces
  • Answering the telephone promptly with an energetic tone of voice
  • Process registration and checkins including processing payment using the software system
  • Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in harmony with the centre's philosophy
  • Ensure a group of assigned campers are supervised and safe
  • Prepare and lead a variety of activities that are ageappropriate
  • Use observations to expand play and plan activities that recognize individual difference
  • Ensure the environment is healthy and safe
  • Communicate positively and build trust with parents
To land this role you need to have;

  • At least 1+ years direct work experience in youth program development.
  • Additional certifications or workshops relating to customer service are an asset
  • All team members must have current CPR/First Aid certification prior to start date and must be maintained throughout employment
  • All team members must provide a recent Vulnerable Sector Check prior to commencement of training and/or work.
