About the role:
We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant who is willing to get immersed in all things Human Resources.

Under the general direction of the department director, the HR intern will assist the growing HR team with a range of HR tasks and duties including but not limited to recruitment, HR administration, employee engagement, and internal communications.

The ideal HR Intern is driven, inquisitive, creative, and adaptable.

We are looking for someone that is analytical, detail-oriented, has an eye for data, and is up for a challenge This role is important because you will provide support and contribute to transforming JHS Ottawa's people experience through Recruitment and Selection, reviewing data for key trends, and supporting employees.


Qualifications:


Education:


  • Currently enrolled in Human Resources Management (preference to a postgraduate certificate program or graduating student)

Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the full recruitment cycle for internal/external postings from job requisitions to issuing employment contracts
  • Assist with developing recruiting strategies in targeted markets designed to maximize exposure and receipt of highquality resumes.
  • Coordinate onboarding preparation and scheduling
  • Assist with the maintenance of a complete and accurate employee database
  • Maintain and update HR documentation, databases, and files.
  • Provide support to HR Generalist and HR Director as required
  • Interests in telling a story through reporting and analytics and the ability to manipulate and present data
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • A desire to join a great team, gain broad HR experience and build strong professional relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including an eye for details
  • Strong customer service approach and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Ability to effectively multitask and shift priorities in a deadlinedriven atmosphere
