Welding Process Expertise:

Demonstrate proficiency in various welding techniques including SAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW and SMAW, and provide guidance to the team in executing these processes efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Journeyperson Certificate in Welding
  • Certification(s) in welding processes
  • 5+ years assembly/production experience, ideally in Oil & Gas fabrication of pressure piping would be preferred. Will also consider other industry experience.
  • Experience in highefficiency piping welding processes, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of assembly/fabrication/production processes, techniques, and quality control methods.
  • Significant knowledge and proficiency in [specific welding techniques, materials, or technologies relevant to your industry].
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating and guiding a team towards achieving schedule.
  • Ability to read and interpret all redline markups and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID's, G.A.'s)
  • Working knowledge of Alberta OHS Act, Regulation, and Code as it pertains to our industry.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Suite

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

  • Collaborate with the shop production planning team to maintain production schedules for the pressure piping department.
  • Maintain production schedules, adjusting them based on progress as necessary to meet customer requirements and deadlines
  • Identify opportunities to improve assembly processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Assist with production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
  • Assist with recommending and implementing the use of automation or technology solutions to streamline assembly operations.
  • Lead and supervise a team of assembly technicians (welding, pipefitting, etc.), providing direction, guidance, and support.
  • Provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement for team members.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in assembly operations.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Enforce quality control standards and procedures to ensure that assembled products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement in assembly processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assembly processes,
  • Generate reports on production metrics/performance, including productivity, and adherence to schedules.
  • Provide regular updates to management on fabrication department performance
