The Opportunity


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sales Finance - BioSteel, the Sales Finance Analyst - BioSteel is responsible for acting as the financial business partner to their assigned Sales team as well as coordinating Canopy Growth's BioSteel business unit's trade investment processes.

This role will also help to drive trade spend effectiveness and have ownership trade spend reporting, trade spend accruals, trade deduction validation including customer driven post audits.

The Sales Finance Analyst - BioSteel will also be responsible for supporting other key finance processes including, but not limited to, customer profitability, account analysis, portfolio performance reporting, and planning.


Responsibilities:


  • Support the implementation, documentation, and maintenance of all trade deduction SOPs
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Management, Sales, and Accounting teams to ensure trade spend is accrued on a timely basis
  • Work in partnership with stakeholders to ensure timely collection of receivables and resolution of deductions
  • Communicate with customers to identify and resolve outstanding or disputed deductions claims
  • Review and analyze supporting documentation to ensure the validity of deductions
  • Match and clear deductions against the appropriate promotions in the trade promotions management (TPM) system or offline trade tracking tools as required
  • Review and reconcile actual and forecasted trade spend to ensure compliance with approved trade rates
  • Identify process improvements to minimize deduction volume with key customers
  • Conduct analysis and business case modelling for stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Revenue Management and Sales teams to enable profitable and sound decision making with respect to financial and market impacts
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience- Undergraduate degree in business with a focus on Accounting or Finance- 2+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment- Previous experience in Trade Finance or Sales Finance is an asset- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability resolve conflicts with internal and external stakeholders- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities and various time constraints- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with multiple ERPs (Netsuite, SAP S4/HANA)
