Position Overview:


  • Under the general supervision of the Drug Distribution Manager, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St.

Boniface Hospital, the PHARMACY ASSISTANT is responsible for:

the procurement, storage, inventory management, recording, preparing, dispensing, packaging, labeling, pricing, issuing and distribution of pharmaceuticals in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Department.


Experience:


  • Previous experience in hospital pharmacy practice is preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Grade XII or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Basic keyboard skills.
  • Ability to pass and maintain the departmental verification validation within six months of being in the workplace, and then as required on a periodic basis.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
  • Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with other individuals.
