Hitachi Energy currently has several projects including a major migration starting in 2023. For this purpose, HE is looking for an IT specialist for its Quebec City plant, distribution transformer division.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the IT Specialist will provide expertise and advice to improve the IT department, both IT/telecommunication/network equipment and also coordinate upcoming migrations.

This person will become an integral member of a growing team.

Your responsibilities

Document and guide others in the implementation and operation of existing plant technologies.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in the field of infrastructure and plant systems.
Support the delivery of the appropriate solution/service in accordance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs), on time, within established budget and quality plan, in collaboration with Hitachi Power Grids' IT teams.
Support work teams, provide necessary guidance, monitor task execution, ticketing and share specialized knowledge.
Document and analyze technical issues and customer interactions including technical training manual
Attend training sessions and conferences to stay current on best practices to help customers resolve their technical issues.

Your background

Experience in IT infrastructure technology and migration
Degree in information management, computer systems, business engineering or a related field.
Spoken and written bilingualism (French, English)
Ability to work independently; great personal motivation and initiative to identify what needs to be done
Knowledge of IT infrastructure technology and plant systems with a basic understanding of the overall context of business processes and the impact of information technology
Experience supporting telephony systems, conference room equipment and wireless scanners (an asset)
Experience in project planning and execution (an asset)
