Your Contribution:
As an Instrumentation Technician, you will work in collaboration with the Instrumenation team


Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Delivery of noise and vibration services to the construction, demolition, mining, pipeline, energy and public service sectors
  • Providing preconstruction and preblast surveys prior to the commencement of mining and construction to record the existing conditions of buildings and structures. These surveys are carried out in a predetermined area in order to protect building owners, as well as contractors, in the event of a damage claim resulting from construction or blasting activities
  • Provide onsite noise and vibration monitoring, overpressure and hydrostatic pressure monitoring for construction, blasting and mining activities to ensure compliance with noise and vibration governing regulations
  • Using remote noise and vibration data to draft factual monitoring reports and come to conclusions
  • Conduct site visits and provide acoustical and vibration testing prior to the commencement of construction activities to establish background limits
  • Measure vibration levels in building elements, watermains and gas lines and measure ambient sound levels
  • Produce weekly monitoring reports for senior staff
  • In conjunction with field investigations such as preblast surveys and vibration monitoring, conduct damage claim investigations and provide expert witness testimonies
  • Coordination with subconsultants and subcontractors, including geophysical surveys, drilling services, certified risk assessors, engineering services (mechanical, electrical)

Your Profile:

  • Has a degree in an engineering, environmental, or technologybased field or other applicable diploma
  • Valid provincial driver's license and access to reliable transportation
  • Proficient with MS Suite, especially Excel, Word and Teams
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
