You will provide Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention and consultation/training to children, their families and/or caregivers, enrolled in Manitoba Possible's Provincial Outreach Therapy for Children (POTC) program.

The successful applicant will work in the Winnipeg region with workspace at SSCY Center.


Manitoba Possible's POTC therapists work as an interdisciplinary team of PTs, OTs and SLPs providing services to preschool children who have developmental and/or physical disabilities.

These consultative services are provided in the child's natural environment - home/ daycare/ nursery school.


This is a.5 EFT, 12-month term position.

Your Role

  • Provide consultative Occupational Therapy services in a community setting following a family centered model of practice.
  • Clinical reporting in accordance with College and agency standards.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to privacy and confidentiality standards as outlined in professional standards of practice and agency, provincial and federal guidelines.
  • Collect and review client information in order to initiate assessment in accordance with established timelines.
  • Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures and tools.
  • Interpret, document and communicate evaluation information through written and verbal reports.
  • Participate in conferences/meetings pertinent to client's specialized needs.
  • Participate and contribute to the development of each child's programming at Intake/Review meetings and Individual Education Plan (IEP)/School Transition meetings.
  • Complete monthly statistical records regarding consumer caseload, and submit mileage, additional expenditures, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Establish effective collaborative relationships with clients and collaterals.
  • Demonstrate leadership within the team through identification of program/consumer needs, issues or service gaps, and participating on community committees, as requested.
  • Conduct/assist in formal presentations and workshops.
  • Maintain and replenish inventories of equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Participate in student supervision or peer mentoring/supervision as requested.
  • Participate/contribute regularly in meetings pertaining to program development and /or professional development.
  • Complete CPR/First Aid training according to program requirements.
  • Practice in compliance with Privacy legislation (i.e., Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), & The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What You Know

  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba
  • Knowledge and experience in the delivery of pediatric Occupational Therapy services
  • Experience with consultative/collaborative service delivery model
  • Commitment to familycentered practice
  • Strong organizational/communication skills with sensitivity to diversity
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge and experience with computers
  • Ability to work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member
  • Physical health necessary to meet demands of the position
  • Valid driver's license and access to vehicle
  • French Language competency is an asset in this position
