Reporting to the OCAD U LiVE Executive Producer, this position the OCAD U Live Studio Coordinator will oversee and maintain the OCAD U LIVE studio at 350 King Street in the TIFF Bell Lightbox.

The Studio Coordinator will also train students on how to use video, lighting and recording equipment and organize the storage and sign-out of equipment.


  • OCAD U LiVE ) is OCAD U's digital TV channel and an experiential learning program for students to become content creators.

Summary of Responsibilities:


  • Oversee and maintain the OCAD U LiVE Studio Space
  • Support OCAD U LiVE Executive Producer on all equipment and set purchases as well as builds.
  • Develop and maintain a signout system for equipment
  • Supervise all student filming in the studio space or organize for another qualified staff member to be there
  • Oversee and support editing and videographer student monitors
  • Develop and oversee an organized storage system for equipment
  • Support with hiring talent and crew for all productions
  • Support with filming inside the studio space
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment
  • Train all students on using new and old equipment
  • Support with other daytoday tasks of the running of the studio space as assigned by the OCAD U LiVE Executive Producer

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary diploma in a relevant discipline with a minimum of one (1) year of related experience, or equivalent
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in video production
  • Experience working on production sets
  • Strong attention to detail with a taskoriented approach
  • Experience handing and using production equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and participate collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity, and experience promoting a respectful work and learning environment
  • Proficiency with studio recording equipment
  • Familiar with editing and recording software

Compensation:
OPSEU Unit 1, Appendix A, Grade A3; $25.97 to $33.69 per hour


Hours of Work:
A total of 21 hours per week. This is a 6-month temporary contract.
