Our Team:

The Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) Team at Creighton Mine is an integral part of Vale's long-term operating strategy.

As part of the Creighton Team, you will be supporting the Maintenance Departments in planning all work required to keep the plant running efficiently.

Working closely with Maintenance Supervisors, as well as other maintenance and operating departments, in planning all inspections and repair work will mínimally impact the plant's production.


The Opportunity:


We are currently seeking a
Planner, Mobile Equipment/Supervisor, Maintenance to join our
Maintenance Planning and Control Team at
Creighton Mine in
Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a permanent position.


As a Planner, Mobile Equipment/Supervisor, Maintenance, you will be helping to facilitate the continuous improvement of the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team's performance, through the effective use of established processes and procedures.

You will be accountable for the planning of work for Creighton's Mobile Maintenance Department and may be required to provide relief supervision as needed.


Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Work Monday to Friday, 8 hours day shift.
  • Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, etc.), tools and standards.
  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, etc.
  • Execute the "Planning" element of the process for all types of work orders systematic and nonsystematic maintenance. This includes shutdown (PMP) and external resourcerelated work.
  • Coordinate and facilitate with the Scheduler to ensure all required planning/scheduling routines are followed.
  • Ensure WO user statuses are properly maintained throughout the lifecycle of the work order.
  • Ensure work orders are planned with an emphasis on safety and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification.
  • Work within assigned budgets and escalate to management should a budget be exceeded.
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of the "work schedule" for completion by Required End Date.
  • Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned based on priority and required end date.
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.
  • Relief supervisor as necessary which requires:
  • Holding the crew accountable for safe behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with proper time confirmations completed.
  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards.
  • Work with a crew to develop an interactive workplace environment.
