Position Title:
Carpenter

Responsibilities:

Follows a written scope and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures, and material and tool requirements.
Understands and follows local building codes and regulations at all times.
Ensures all equipment, PPE, tools, and material is in working order and on the truck before leaving the building.
Ensure that all job and Safety related paperwork is completed daily.
Be responsible for the finished product.
Be familiar with removal of interior and exterior building finishes/components and denailing of framing materials.
General knowledge of the material and techniques used in general construction/home building, including demolition and rough/finish carpentry.
Be precise in finish carpentry while hanging doors and cabinets, installing trim/railings, and setting windows.
Be responsible for keeping the job site organized and clean at all times.
Ideally the individual would be a 3rd or 4th year apprentice.
Criminal record check must be provided prior to commencement of employment.
Drug and Alcohol preemployment test in accordance with our policies may be required.

Skills/ Competencies Required:

Must lift heavy items of at least 50 lbs. on a routine basis.
Be prepared to work in confined spaces or on scaffolding or platforms (providing you have proper training).
Emergency or Standard First Aid would be an asset.
Hold a valid Canadian Driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.
Be familiar with the appropriate tools, supplies and techniques.
Ability to follow technical directions.
Good communication skills both oral and written.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and team work.
Ability to work independently.
Selfmotivated and selfdirected.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Time management.
Willingness to learn new methods and techniques.
