The Product Owner, IFEC will support the development of the in-flight entertainment and connectivity strategy portfolios.

The incumbent will be the main contact for the IFC operational as it relates to the customer experience while maintaining a high-level of technical knowledge pertaining to new and existing IFC solutions.


A key deliverable of this position is an awareness of industry trends and innovations and use them to improve and advance Air Canada's customer value proposition and corporate priorities.


The successful incumbent will work closely with internal and external stakeholders in addition to business owners from different areas of the organization.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and support connectivity strategies to be implemented by Air Canada, Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge.
  • Ensure that the strategic direction of the portfolio is delivered through product implementation and operational groups as it relates to product performance, customer experience and business programs.
  • Develop and maintain a competitive product database of offerings.
  • Monitor and report on the solutions being deployed by competing carriers directly impacting Air Canada brands worldwide.
  • Collaborate with Product Design cabin interiors and Air Canada Maintenance departments on new fleet acquisition and/or fleet refurbishments programs to identify and develop connectivity solutions.
  • Conduct postlaunch assessment of newly implemented initiatives including QoE/QoS audits.
  • Research and evaluate product offerings within the Aviation Connectivity industry and competitors.
  • Support the IFE product operationalization efforts for new IFE products and aircraft introductions into Air Canada.
  • Ensure cohesive delivery of operational related product rollout and marketing campaigns with internal stakeholders such as product design, marketing communications, ACM, Brand etc.
  • Support the creation and delivery of IFEC operational reports to Air Canada senior management.
  • Collaborate with a team of operations and product managers to support Air Canada's fleet expansion and ongoing IFEC product offerings.

Qualifications

  • IT related education and/or technological background (programming, infrastructure management, etc.) an asset.
  • 35 years of experience in Relationship Management Airline Operations, Product, and/or Technology.
  • Knowledge or exposure to Aero Connectivity systems and technology.
  • Previous experience in the communication technology industries (wireless, entertainment hardware & software, satellite, mobile) would be an asset.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Solid vendor management, ability to negotiate, and problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of tolerance for uncertainty as it relates to an ever changing and evolving industry.
  • Ability to work in small teams and collaborate cross functionally across multiple areas of corporation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Solid commercial and airline industry experience.

Special Notes

  • This position requires up to 25% of travel.
  • Incumbent should be able to travel freely to Air Canada destinations.
