Position Overview:


The Assistant Leasing Manager carries out the day-to-day functions of developing, nurturing, and managing relationships with prospective and existing tenants regarding growth in market, lease signing, tenant relationship management and brand awareness/promotion.


Primary Responsibilities:


Tenant Relations and Support:


  • Understands how to put the tenant first and follow our philosophy of "Customer is King"
  • Serve as a primary contact for tenant inquiries, facilitating swift resolutions to concerns and requests, including lease assignments and extensions.
  • Manage all aspects of tenant lease documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and the Landlord Tenant Board Notices, including termination procedures.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to address tenant rent payment issues and assist with being first contact in regard to the collection of outstanding accounts.

Marketing and Promotion:


  • Partner with the marketing team to effectively promote rental properties through various channels, including social media and international website listings.
  • Contribute to the monthly tenant newsletter, ensuring content is engaging and informative.

Event Planning and Community Engagement:


  • Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of open house events and other promotional activities to enhance property visibility.
  • Support community engagement initiatives aimed at fostering a sense of belonging among tenants

Administrative and Operational Support:


  • Maintain uptodate records of community demographics, amenities, and property features to aid in property promotion.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of daily traffic logs, phone logs, followups, and the integration of software records with physical documentation using Dynamics 365.

Team Leadership and Development:


  • Oversee and provide guidance to the leasing team, including training and task assignment, to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Support in the onboarding of new staff and new training initiatives
  • Be a key driver in instilling the company's strategic direction into team members

Additional Responsibilities:


  • Be available to respond to tenant communications during and after business hours as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the efficient operation of the leasing department.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, or 3 years experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask, detail oriented and possess good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Always represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Portray a positive attitude towards potential and existing tenants.
  • Able to work within a flexible schedule including weekends.
  • Knowledge of the local student housing market an asset.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience with different CRM software (365 dynamics or Yardi)
