What you will do:
Under the direction of the Director, Child Development Centre, and in accordance with established guidelines set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act (2014), The Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement (2014), Public Health and Fire Regulations, The Early Childhood Education Division, Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness and Humber College, the Early Childhood Educator develops, implements and evaluates programs for individuals or groups of infant, toddler and/or preschool children; directs and evaluates Early Childhood Education Students on placement; demonstrates the philosophy, techniques and theories of the Child Care Centre and the Early Childhood Education Department; and maintains on-going communication with families, college personnel and the community, with respect to the children and the program; and performs other related duties as assigned.
What you bring to the role:
Education/ Experience
- Other assets may include an ECE Advanced Studies Certificate or other related certificates, diplomas or degrees.
- Current First Aid/ CPR certification as well as successful medical/TB test results and valid Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check is required.
- One to two years current experience in an inclusive child care setting as well as proven working knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act, Public Health Regulations and Fire Regulations.
