Summary:

The R&D Project Manager will work closely with the Engineering Manager to oversee the entire development process of new products and programs within the organization, keeping track of time, costs, quality.

The role requires significant leadership skills and technical adaptability, demonstrated by the ability to influence, and lead within a rapidly evolving, cross-functional environment.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and strategic thinking.

The R&D Project Manager will work closely with leaders including the Global DOOR BU Leader, VP of Engineering, and Chief Technology Officer.


Salary range is $130,000 to $150,000 depending on experience.


Location:
Montreal, Canada onsite.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Lead technical aspects of development projects relating to the development of new products or the improvement of existing products, aligning it with overall business goals and objectives.
  • Translate highlevel objectives into detailed technical plans, execute the plan (individually and/or through others), and update the team on key technical and timeline risks.
  • Determine and execute improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors, and customers.
  • Establish project goals and priorities by collaborating with Marketing and Operations.
  • Develop and manage the R&D budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost control.
  • Ensure that all R&D activities comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive products, and customer needs to inform R&D decisions.
  • Implement quality control processes accordingly to Technology processes to ensure the high quality and reliability of products or processes developed by the R&D department.
  • Document all phases of research and development.
  • Allocate resources, including budget, personnel, and equipment, to support R&D projects effectively.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, such as marketing, sales, and production, to ensure seamless integration of R&D efforts with other business functions, with other R&D center and Technology corporate.
  • Research, design and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes, and equipment.
  • Work with other R&D, engineers, and other technical professionals.
  • Suggest training tools to enhance employee performance and skill development.
  • Monitor metrics and objectives ensuring meeting of goals.
  • Manage suppliers' relationships and product testing.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelors/master's in engineering. Master's in business administration (MBA) or equivalent Post Graduate Diploma would be an added advantage.
  • 10+ year's experience in research and development, with a proven track record of managing R&D projects and teams and work with international teams.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and lead a diverse team of professionals.
  • Knowledge of industryspecific regulations and standards. Uptodate knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electronic design and home automation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of designers.
  • Team working attitude and great problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, dynamic
  • Positive attitude, selfmotivated and eager to succeed.
