Job Purpose:


Responsibilities:


  • Developing and assisting with implementation of new and updated policies and procedures; review and advise on required updates to policies and procedures as laws and regulations change
  • Collaborating with our VCNA business and corporate groups (and global parent in Brazil) to identify and address privacy related issues, including policies and procedures, that require improvement
  • Assisting both external and internal parties in completing forms (and create those forms) resulting from our privacy policies and procedures (including with respect to individuals who want correction or deletion of their data); responding to all PIIrelated requests.
  • Receiving and investigating complaints about the privacy policies and procedures and alleged violations of the Global/VCNA privacy regime
  • Ensuring there is alignment between privacy and security compliance programs (including investigations, practices, policies), at a VCNA level and with relevant Global policies
- performing compliance monitoring related activities (e.g. personal data audits)

  • Chief Privacy Officer duties under the Quebec Privacy Act, as set out in more detail in Schedule A hereto
- acting generally as a liaison with all VCNA departments, including IT, on privacy matters and on projects with any PII facet

  • Managing and responding as necessary to reports/notifications generated by privacy management software (anticipated to be Microsoft Purview)
  • Running the next update of the Company's data mapping inventory and conducting the resulting gap review
  • Leading the response/participating in/coordinating the Company's response to any data breach in cooperation with the Breach Coordinator and Company Response Team,
  • Training on Privacy Policies, Data Breach Response and related obligations, including:
  • Communicate with government officials as necessary in compliance with regulatory reporting
  • Responsibility for Records Management

Qualifications:


  • Robust familiarity and proficiency with the Privacy Legal requirements in one or more jurisdictions in which we operate (includes US federal and state, Canadian federal and provincial including Quebec).
  • University graduation in related area, with at least 45 years of related experience, ideally with medium to large corporations with operations in both Canada and the US.
  • Proficient with MS-Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Vizio)
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and professionalism when dealing with internal and external parties
  • Selfstarter in a singleperson role without subordinates, who naturally takes initiative
  • Should be proficient in English; proficiency in French would be an asset
