About Us:


Role:

We are seeking to fill three positions in our

Cybersecurity Services Division:
one (1) in our Application and Product Security unit and two (2) within our Risk Management unit.


As an Information Security Officer, you are tasked with the protection of the Government's information assets from a confidentiality, integrity, and availability perspective.


As a member of the Cybersecurity Services Division, you will be actively involved in providing IT security risk management services, consulting, and support to a variety of ministry business units and departments.


Security Architect Position


Within the Security Architect role, you are responsible for collaborating with client departments while maturing the Government of Alberta's security architecture and security capabilities within a DevSecOps framework.


Your responsibilities include:


  • Development of and advocating for security architecture and DevSecOps framework
  • Providing information security advice to stakeholders
  • Participating in the identification of information security requirements, as well as the development of strategies and solutions to meet these requirements across the organization
  • Facilitating or performing identification, assessment, and treatment of information and technology security threats and risks
  • Ensuring risks are documented in the Government of Alberta's Information Technology Security Risk Register
  • Communicating cyber threat information to stakeholders
  • Performing cyber threat or cyber security controls related research as requested by Cybersecurity Services management

Role (Continued):


Risk Management Position


Within the Risk Management role, you are responsible for development, management, and support of the Cybersecurity Risk Management Program, support of the GoA's cybersecurity strategy, and Information Security Management Directives (ISMD).


Your responsibilities include:


  • Service lead for the Cybersecurity Division Risk Management Program
  • Provide information security Risk Management advice to stakeholders
  • Participate in the identification of information security requirements, as well as the development of strategies and solutions to meet these requirements
  • Facilitating or performing identification, assessment, and treatment of information and technology security threats and risks
  • Ensure that risks are documented in the Government of Alberta's Information Technology Security Risk Register
  • Evaluate company's internal control framework effectiveness in addressing risks and accomplishing goals
  • Communicate cyber threat condition to stakeholders
  • Provide training and technical support to employees on risk management programs and strategies
  • Assist in development of policy instruments and controls supporting the GoA risk management and cybersecurity program

Information Security Officer 3
The Information Security Officer 3 position is the senior working level of the position.

An incumbent may be asked to lead a team, an activity or a project relating to information security and must demonstrate an in-depth or expert level of knowledge in assigned tasks.


Qualifications:


A university degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, supplemented by at least four (4) years of related experience is required.

Equivalencies are:


  • Related twoyear diploma and a minimum of six (6) years related experience; or
  • Related oneyear certificate and minimum of seven (7) years related experience

Security Architect Position

  • TOGAF knowledge or certification is an asset.
  • A security certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, GPEN, or equivalent) is an asset.

Risk Management Position

  • A security certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, GPEN, or equivalent) is an asset.
