Position Summary


Under the guidance of the Senior Verifications Officer, the Verifications Officer is responsible for processing and the recording of official documents (both electronic and paper-based) as they are received by the University, ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulatory guidelines.


Responsibilities

Administrative Support:


  • Review and process requests related to official documents (including, but not limited to, transcripts, test results, employment letters, immigration documents and other official documentation) as required for admissions purposes.
  • Organize further verification methods through contact with issuing institutions and/or requesting supporting documents where required.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of required official documentation through student profiles and records storage to ensure a comprehensive history for audit purposes.
  • Participate in the revision of standard processes for receiving and handling official documentation and/or other submitted documentation for admissions purposes.
  • Participate in the periodic recollection and/or destruction of irreplaceable documents; regularly purge outdated documents from physical and electronic storage.

Business Communications

  • Receive and respond to enquiries from UCW staff and faculty, business partners and/or GUS Global staff related to the receipt of official documentation, as well as the scope and administration of applicable policies, procedures and processes.
  • Provide consultation services to applicants and students.

Position Requirements
To be successful in the Verifications Officer position, an individual must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized postsecondary institution.
  • Minimum one (1) year administrative experience for an educational institution (with preference for postsecondary).

Competencies

  • A proven serviceoriented focus with the ability to build rapport in a demanding environment.
  • Knowledge of concepts and processes related to admissions within higher education institutions.
  • Efficient, effective, and dependable time management skills in order to multitask, with flexibility to handle changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy with decisionmaking and data records.
  • Effective communication skills demonstrated within a professional business environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and to relate constructively and professionally with students, faculty, staff and external partners.
  • Strong computer literacy, including full competency in Microsoft Office programs.

$45,000.00 per year
