THE CENTRE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS OFFICE has the following anticipated vacancy for SUMMER 2023:

Non-Credit Contract:
English Second Language (ESL) Instructor


DATES:

Preparation Dates:
May 29-June 2nd (4 hrs flexible time)
June 5th-June 9th (4 hrs flexible time)

Camp dates:
June 12th-July 7th, 2023


JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Instructor for Summer English Second Language (ESL) Program (noncredit);
  • The program takes place at John Abbott College, however excursions to locations in the Greater Montreal Area will occur;
  • Monday to Friday 10:00am12:00pm, and 1:00pm3:00pm (extra hours may be required during excursions).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach ESL to a group of approximately 15 students from the Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico);
  • In collaboration with colleagues and International Advisor, plan and prepare teaching materials and inclass activities;
  • Evaluate students' performance and development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 13 years' experience teaching English to international students;
  • Certification or degree in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language).
  • This is a noncredit contract
  • Hourly paid: $50 per hour
