Do you want to be a part of the team bringing Meridian's innovations to life? We are currently seeking a dynamic leader to fill the position of Finishing Foreman for our project located in Saskatoon, SK.

What You Will Be Doing


The primary role of the Finishing Foreman is to oversee crews and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to the finishing schedule, contributing to the project being completed in an efficient and timely manner.

This is a leadership position where less time is spent on tools and bridges the gap between management and workers.

Further, you will ensure the quality of finish carpentry work meets organizational standards.

Additionally, part of your responsibilities will include ensuring the highest safety standards of Meridian's safety program are met at all times.


Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Actively participating in onsite safety measures and leading by example
  • Direct supervision of finish carpentry crew
  • Coordination and monitoring progress of subcontract work with respect to finishing
  • Collaborating with the Superintendent to revise the weekly production schedule
  • Address QC deficiencies in a timely manner to turnover units 100% complete on occupancy

***You are driven and build projects on schedule as envisioned according to Meridian's standard of detail and quality. You are a proven leader and motivate and mentor your team to produce quality work. You are personable and conduct yourself in a professional manner with trades, clients, direct reports and project team. You work effectively and in close communication with project managers and the site superintendent. You are detail oriented, a problem solver and decisive in difficult situations. You are adaptable to shifting focus multiple times in a day.


What You Will Need

  • Journeyperson designation in a construction trade, Bachelor of Commerce degree, or a combination of related experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on multifamily or large commercial projects
  • Proven experience leading safe and productive construction sites of up to 100 trade workers
  • Strong understanding of the construction trades and the sequencing of construction projects
  • Proficient in finish carpentry techniques
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings
  • Willing to work weekends to maintain construction schedule
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
  • WHMIS
  • Additional safety certifications are an asset but not required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Steel toed boots
  • Computer experience required. Experience with Bluebeam and Procore a definite asset
