The Analyst, Ask GPS contributes to the overall success of Global Procurement Services department serving the global enterprise ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Is this role right for you? In this role you, will:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Applies knowledge of procurement policy and follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) to respond to inquiries related to Procurement Policy and Procedures, and other related policies.
  • Provides frontline support for all user requests and issues related to Procurement Technology (Icertis, SmartBuy, etc.).
  • Operates the Bank's issue ticket management system to:
  • Log, review and resolve Level 1 and Level 2 support issues related to Procurement Technology.
  • Perform regular activities in the Procurement Technology such as HST selfassessment, Zerorate tax code review, release booking hold invoices, etc.
  • Interact with employees and suppliers for P2P platform onboarding, catalog setup & maintenance, training and support for sourcing events, invoice processing guidance, P2P Procurement as Approver activities and purchase request guidance following SOPs and WIs.
  • Prepares, updates, follows SOPs and WIs documentation to ensure data quality and consistent delivery of service according to established Operating Level Agreements (OLAs).
  • Escalates issues to Sr. Analyst and/or Manager, suppliers, or other internal stakeholders.
  • Prepares and distributes reports from the systems.
  • Participates in the training and onboarding activities for new staff.
  • Participates and assists in crossfunctional initiatives.
  • Performs root cause analysis of issues escalating to Senior Analyst and/or Manager.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in related field.
  • 2+ years of business administration, business analysis, project management, data analysis, business process improvement, and/or business help desk.
  • Experience with Coupa, Icertis or other eProcurement software.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Suite
  • Excel, Word, Power Point etc.
  • Detail oriented, analytical skills and data collection and manipulation experience.
  • Good written, oral and presentation skills.
  • High level of selfmotivation and initiative, and ability to operate effectively as a team player.
  • Good customer service skills when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Spanish is an asset.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and dashboard creations (PowerBI or Tableau) is desirable.
