***: Reporting to the Director, Long Term Care and Assisted Living, the Assisted Living Manager provides leadership and management to the SHOAL Assisted Living residents and staff. The Assisted Living Manager strives to deliver compassionate, efficient, and quality care. We are looking for an energetic, positive individual to work with a dynamic team to provide exceptional care.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide daytoday management of Assisted Living operations and delivery of resident care
  • Support admission and exit planning for residents as required
  • Manage expenses to meet budget, including all revenue and expenditures
  • Responsible for emergency response planning and procures
  • Responsible for 24hour First aid and Emergency response
  • Follow Assisted Living Registrar guidelines, policies & procedures
  • Lead and participate in resident case conference, Client & Family Partnership Committee and resident councils
  • Oversee the social and recreation model of care for Assisted Living residents
  • Maintain an uptodate Personal Services Plan for all residents in care
  • Work in collaboration with Island Health and other partners
  • Reportable incidents to be submitted on day of occurrence to Assisted Living Registrar
  • Investigate resident related incidents and provide accurate and timely followup
  • Effectively plan, assign and coordinate team resources to maintain a high standard of service
  • Be actively involved in performance management of greeters, hospitality, and recreation staff, including evening and weekend staff
  • Consultation with Island Health Case Manager on Home Support provision of care
  • Provide strong leadership and foster family and client centered care in a collaborative positive work environment
  • Mediate concerns with clients/families and others to arrive at a mutually satisfactory outcome
  • Serve as staff coach and mentor to help resolve issues and maintain a respectful, collegial workplace
  • Identify and appropriately address any risk management and quality issues in conjunction with the Director and other members of the management team
  • Lead and participate in program planning/development as well as quality improvement initiatives
  • Perform other related administrative duties, including approval of operational expenditures and requests for overtime or leave
  • Ensure Covid19 policies and procedures are followed
  • Perform other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Postsecondary education in recreation therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or nursing, or a degree in a relevant health discipline with appropriate BC registration
  • WHMIS Certification
