Department, Unit or Project Description:

The CHILD Cohort Study is a national birth cohort study involving over 3,300 Canadian infants and their families.

The Study explores how genetics and early childhood environmental exposures impact the development of asthma, allergies, and other chronic childhood diseases.

The Study has clinical sites in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Toronto, with the National Coordinating Centre (NCC) located at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and is part of the Department of Medicine.

We seek data minded students to help progress the study.


Job Summary:


Under direct supervision, provides support of a routine nature related to the collection and review of data for research projects.


Accountabilities:


  • Input data into spreadsheets or databases and maintain information and records.
  • Conduct preliminary, basic analyses and prepare summaries of data.
  • Assist with obtaining data and information from databases for others to use in the development of presentations, scientific papers and reports.
  • Seek guidance and direction from researcher or other project staff.

Qualifications:


Education:
Currently enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program.***
Experience:Prior experience is not required.


Assets:


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
