Lastman's Bad Boy is currently seeking a
General Manager** to join and lead our team at our new location in Ottawa, ON.


The role of the General Manager is to achieve sales targets and increased revenue and profit through integrity selling, as well as participating in innovative promotional concepts through their continued training and coaching of sales staff.

The General Manager is responsible for setting realistic and achievable goals in alignment with company goals while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness, meeting deadlines, continually striving to increase revenue and profitability, decrease costs, while working within the store's approved budget.

The General Manager will also manage all facets of the store by engaging heavily in the sale, service and solutions of a full product line including but not limited to; furniture bedding, appliances and electronics.

A proven leader in effective delegation, training, motivation and coaching, the General Manager is there to ensure all staff members are assisted in achieving professional and personal excellence inline with the company's goals, vision and targets.


The General Manager is considered a member of the corporate Head Office management team who represents the goals and directives of the company at store level at all times.

The General Manager is to maintain full knowledge and accountability of all company procedures and policies outlined in various manuals and must keep abreast of any updates and ensure proper communication to subordinates when appropriate.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage all aspects of the day to day operation of the retail store location;
  • Maximize store profitability and manage all store financials, including inventory control and cash flow;
  • Recruit, develop and retain high performing Sales and Office Staff;
  • Implement corporate merchandising directives and standards to achieve and surpass financial sales targets;
  • Stay knowledgeable about products, services, promotions and policies and share knowledge with the team;
  • Stay knowledgeable about competitive activity;
  • Organize instore promotions and marketing events.
  • Ensuring sales targets are met; assist sales staff in closing sales
  • Solving customer issues

Required Skills:


  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching ability
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and budgeting processes
  • Strong instore marketing and promotion creation ability
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts within retail hours of operation
  • Weekend hours are mandatory (Saturday & Sunday)
  • Professionalism and a passion for retail

Required Experience

  • 5 years or more of progressive retail management experience
  • Experience with a commissioned sales floor considered an asset
