The
Human Resources Manager, is responsible for partnering with the company owners and management teams to develop and implement successful Human Resources strategies that are aligned with the company's mission and values to achieve business results.


Based in Edmonton, the Human Resources Manager is a critical member of the management team and serves as a business partner to the corporate office and 28 retail locations across four provinces.

They will have a focus on all generalist areas of HR including but not limited to provincial legislation, employee relations & engagement, training & development, full employment cycle from recruitment to termination and responding to the needs of the business.

The Human Resources Manager will be scheduled to work 40-44 hours per week, 8:30am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Additional hours including evenings and weekends may be required based on the needs of the business including but not limited to the holiday season, company meetings and training.


Responsibilities

  • Representative and promoter of the Paris Jewellers Brand
  • Support the implementation and executions of change management initiatives for the company.
  • Lead talent mapping and succession planning process with a focus on continued development of top talent with management teams.
  • Create and execute proactive recruitment strategies to secure top talent.
  • Work with the management teams and district managers to assess, recruit, interview and onboard applicants.
  • Completion of the exit interview process and provide reporting to the appropriate management team.
  • Work with management teams to reduce turnover and increase employee retention to improve company culture.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new managers and corporate team members.
  • Working with upper management as a strategic business partner on ways to improve business strategies and company culture.
  • Provide support and guidance to management teams in all areas related to performance management, employment legislation, company policies and procedures, employee engagement and conflict resolution.
  • Work with management teams and district managers for investigations, conflict resolution, progressive discipline and terminations.
  • Actively work with upper management to understand the business needs and offer proactive HR solutions that align with the company's values and initiatives.
  • Act as the main contact for WCB and other provincial equivalents, assisting management teams with disability management.
  • Maintain current OH&S based on provincial legislation.
  • Monitor, review and update all HR and company policies and procedures ensuring they are aligning with company changes and provincial legislation.
  • Address employee requests and potential issues as per company policy (i.e. letters of employment, grievances)
  • Maintain current company initiatives to celebrate and support employees.
  • Assist and maintain office cleanliness.
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:


  • 45 years progressive experience within Human Resources field.
  • Postsecondary education in Human Resources or related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 13 years experience in recruitment is required.
  • Strong relationship building, judgment and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver results, gain consensus and alignment while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills and ability to multitask.
  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Self motivated and solution based thinker.
  • Experience in retail HR is considered an asset.
  • Willingness to learn provincial legislation across four provinces.
  • Computer skills including Excel, Word, and Power point required.
