Job Summary:
The
Maintenance Technician **is responsible for the basic repairs and upkeep of basic repair tasks generated by day to day operation of the warehouse as directed by the Operations Supervisor/Manager, or General Manager.
Shift:
Sunday to Thursday; 11PM to 7AM
Responsibilities**:
- Production Equipment Troubleshooting + Operations Support
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs on productionfilling equipment, packaging equipment, material handling equipment, conveyors, case sealers and process equipment.
- Install, align / reposition production machinery and other mechanical equipment, such as conveyor belt, fans, dryers, and motors according to drawing manuals using power tools and drilling equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to packaging industry equipment and machinery. Indepth troubleshooting of pneumatic and hydraulic systems will be required.
- Perform and assist with production Line Setups and changeovers on equipment such as (but not limited to) fillers, cartoners, shrinkwrappers, pallet wrappers, case packers/erecters, Auto Labelers, Laser / Ink jet print coders, pumps, etc.
- Has a good working knowledge of air compressor systems Interface with all packaging, process and support equipment within the site.
- Safety Monitoring & Compliance
- Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation.
- Proactively identify, report, and resolve safety concerns for the pinch points on the equipment to comply with OSHA Standards.
- Adhere to all established company safety programs, i.e., Lockout Tagout, Preshift startups, Postshift shutdowns, Electrical Safety, etc. under EH&S guidelines.
- Participate, support & improve the Site PM/CMMS program.
- Preventative Maintenance + Other Duties
- Identify, establish and complete PM's as required on all production and other equipment at the site.
- Clean, lubricate and monitor/perform other routine maintenance work on all production machinery.
- Identify and recommend for purchase replacement equipment parts and components through interfacing with technical personnel from external contractors/suppliers.
- Interact and coordinate with existing/new equipment vendors to monitor and schedule all preventative maintenance jobs.
- Review, schedule and coordinate production downtimes with Production Team. related to equipment maintenance.
- Participate, support & improve the Site PM/CMMS program.
- Review new equipment specifications (for potential purchase) and provide feedback with regards to equipment design and operability.
- Provide technical guidance, training and coaching to new Technicians, Machine Operators, etc.
- All other duties as directed by your immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 46 years or related experience.
- Administer onsite training based on needs and recommendation.
- Self Starter with "Can do " attitude
- Competence to read and modify (Programmable Logic Control)
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work in varying facility conditions.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Relies on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Works under general supervision
- Have a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
