About SPRINT Senior Care:

SPRINT Senior Care began caring for seniors and enabling seniors to care for themselves in 1983. We continue to do so today as an accredited, not-for-profit community support service agency in Toronto by offering a wide range of practical and low-cost services to seniors and their caregivers. Our services help seniors stay safe, connected, and live as independently as possible. They also prevent premature or inappropriate institutionalization.

Position Type:
Bargaining Unit Position; Full-Time, Contract (
Contract Length: 8 Weeks)

Reports To:
Supervisor, Community Programs

Location:
Various locations including Sunnybrook Hospital

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Assist in the planning, implementation, and delivery of department activities.
Assist with food security programs.
Socialize with clients.
Program support including: packing and meal delivery to clients.
Assist with administrative tasks and projects.
Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Enrolled in or completed a postsecondary Social Service Worker,

Healthcare, Activation, Social Work, Recreation, Gerontology, or Food and Nutrition Program.

Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
Basic knowledge of food handling and food safety
Experience working with seniors and persons with dementia is an asset.
