About SPRINT Senior Care:


SPRINT Senior Care began caring for seniors and enabling seniors to care for themselves in 1983. We continue to do so today as an accredited, not-for-profit community support service agency in Toronto by offering a wide range of practical and low-cost services to seniors and their caregivers. Our services help seniors stay safe, connected, and live as independently as possible. They also prevent premature or inappropriate institutionalization.

Position Type:
Bargaining Unit Position; Full-Time, Contract (
Contract Length: 8 Weeks)


Reports To:
Supervisor, Community Programs


Location:
Various locations including Sunnybrook Hospital


Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and delivery of department activities.
  • Assist with food security programs.
  • Socialize with clients.
  • Program support including: packing and meal delivery to clients.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and projects.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Enrolled in or completed a postsecondary Social Service Worker,
Healthcare, Activation, Social Work, Recreation, Gerontology, or Food and Nutrition Program.

  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and food safety
  • Experience working with seniors and persons with dementia is an asset.

To be eligible for these positions, participants must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
  • Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
