Recreation Manager:

75 hours bi-weekly

Flexibility for periodic events on evenings and weekends

Weekends on a rotational basis as the Manager on Duty


QUALIFICATIONS

Recreation/ and or Activation Coordinator Gerontology Diploma/Degree (preferred):


  • Must have class "G" drivers License:
-
Must have CPR/First Aid Certification or willing to obtain:

-
Dementia training an asset:


  • Able to conduct seated fitness classes
  • Smart Serve
  • Creative, sociable and outgoing with a positive attitude
  • Experience in retirement living preferred
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Patience, tolerance and politeness when responding to residents and visitors to the residence.
  • Ability to speak read and write English.

Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the Sales Team to coordinate Special Events and Functions,
  • Conduct Activity Assessments
  • Someone that can think outside the box and is willing to be creative and innovative
  • Passionate about working with seniors
  • Someone who is enthusiastic, a self motivated and takes initiative on their own
  • Team Player
  • Organized, and have excellent time management skills
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Be patient, good listener
  • Able to develop and implement a monthly activity calendar that offers a variety of programs to meet the residents physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs
  • Carry out daily, handon activities in a courteous, compassionate and enthusiastic manner which promotes a feeling of wellbeing and security in residents
  • Implement age appropriate activities for residents in a manner appropriate for residents' abilities and which take dignity issues & physical limitations into consideration.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records of care delivered
  • Present a positive image of the residence to the public.
  • Provide administrative support as required.
