Position Summary:

Their tasks include, but are not limited to:

Conducting literature reviews of legal, social and policy aspects of genomic research, precision medicine and open science (data sharing).
Analyze and compare provincial, national and international legal documents on the above-mentioned topic.
Assist in the development and drafting of policy for relevant stakeholders (public, professionals, health institutions, researchers, research ethics boards, etc.).
Assist in the researching, drafting, copy-editing and source-checking of submissions to peer reviewed law, bioethics and scientific journals.
Attending project meetings.
Supporting teaching activities, when appropriate.
Collaborating with the team at the Centre of Genomics and Policy.
Performing any other activity assigned by the research supervisor.
This is an in-person position.

Qualifications:

Pursuing a law degree with a competitive GPA.
Demonstrated interest in health care law and policy, health research regulation, regulation of health professionals, emerging technologies and/or privacy law;
Familiarity with comparative law methodologies.
Experience with copy editing, reference formatting, and legal source checking is an asset.
Background in biology, informatics fields, and/or bioethics is an asset
Works well in a team
Meticulous
Fluent in English and working knowledge of French

This is an in-person position.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours during the summer & 14 hours during the year.

Hourly Salary:
$24.50
