RockHaven Children's Services Inc.

is a Treatment Foster Care agency looking for a highly skilled and qualified Child and Youth Counsellor to join our team.

RockHaven Treatment Foster Care (TFC) provides a safe, stable and nurturing home environment for foster children who have emotional or behavioral needs.

We are a family-based residential treatment program that allows the child to experience healthy parent-to-child relationships in an environment that promotes growth and healing.

Job Description:

You will work with the youth in our program, in the client's home or in the community to assist them in meeting their treatment goals.

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge:

Diploma in Child and Youth Counsellor or an equivalent Diploma or Degree
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Completing youth daily logs and incident reports as required
Ability to carry out individual youth programming
Experience in managing challenging and behavioral youth
Effective communication with your supervisor and coworkers
Strong ability to build a supportive working relationship with both staff and youth
Teaching youth life skills
NVCI an asset
CPR/First Aid an asset

Requirements:

Experience working with Autism
Current Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
Child Welfare Record Check
Valid Class G driver's licence
Satisfactory Driver's Abstract
Proof of vehicle insurance with 2 million liability

This position is evenings/weekends, 20-30 hrs per week in the Peterborough and Surrounding area.
