ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Seniors' Mental Health Program offers specialized mental health services and education for seniors and their caregivers across northeast Ontario. It aims to provide assessment, intervention, and support to help individuals with age-related mental health disorders stay in the community and avoid psychiatric hospitalization.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Personal Support Worker (PSW) plays a crucial role in the health care team by providing personal care and daily living assistance to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).

QUALIFICATIONS
- Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent required.
- Personal Support Worker Certificate, HealthCare Aide Certificate, or completion of a recognized nursing program required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training required.
- GPA certificate required.
- U-first certificate required.
- Ability to manage responsive behaviors.
- Understanding of the recovery model in patient care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate within the health care team.
- Capacity to work independently.
- Physically able to attend to patients' needs.
- Commitment to ongoing education and patient de-escalation.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Adherence to safety protocols.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an advantage.
- Clear Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.
