Position Overview
- As a Team Housing Custodian at Cabot Cape Breton, you play a crucial role in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for our staff members. Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of employee housing facilities, this role involves daily cleaning tasks, waste management, and routine inspections to uphold high standards of hygiene and order. The Employee Housing Custodian will work diligently to address any maintenance issues promptly, ensuring a positive living experience for our valued staff. Attention to detail, a proactive approach, and a commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere are key attributes for success in this role, contributing to the wellbeing and satisfaction of our team members at Cabot Cape Breton.
Residential Cleanliness: Focus on maintaining cleanliness in employee housing areas, ensuring a comfortable living environment.
Organization and Maintenance: Keep employee housing facilities well-organized and address maintenance needs promptly.

Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with residents and relevant departments, promoting a cooperative and well-maintained housing community.

Resident Support: Provide support to residents by addressing housing-related concerns and ensuring a positive living experience.

Adaptability: Be adaptable to changes in housing requirements and swiftly address and resolve any issues to enhance the overall quality of employee housing.
Preferred qualifications and skills:
- Previous custodial experience an asset.
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHIMIS).
- Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years.
- As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
- Long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, and crouching while performing other duties is to be expected
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and otherwise exerting up to 50 pounds of force
- Ability to ascend or descent, stairs and ramps on an occasional basis
- Ability to work with and around chemicals, and registered products and safely follow product labels
