Position Description:


Reporting to the Senior Manager - Program Review & Academic Policy, the Accreditation Manager will develop processes and practices to support successful attainment of external program and college-wide accreditations.


Key responsibilities:


  • Manages, under the direction of the Senior Manager, the planning, discussion, and coordination required for the Collegewide Quality Assurance Audit Process (CQAAP) as well as other program compliance requirements, including the development and monitoring of plans to address recommendations and the completion of the 18month followup report.
  • Provides leadership in determining, documenting, cataloguing, preparing, and presenting required collegewide accreditation reports and followup activities in response to accreditation submissions and postaccreditation reports.
  • Presents to Senior Leadership Team, among others, for consultation and review and to the OAE Management Team for approval.
  • Communicates, trains, and prepares GBC staff on accreditation best practices, related to accreditation reports, evidence, site visits and post accreditation implementation.
  • Works collaboratively with Deans, Chairs, and other Academic Centre staff, to oversee accreditation evidence gathering, coordination and tracking and conducts a gap analysis to ensure ongoing institutionwide quality mechanisms support successful accreditation compliance.
  • In partnership with other GBC staff works to resolve and report on progress made to address accreditation quality assurance gaps.
  • Support domestic academic partnership pathway agreements by establishing collaborative relationships with internal peers and external constituencies (e.g., government agencies, professional societies, industry experts, community partners and other educational institutions) to represent the interests and build on the profile and reputation of GBC and its programs.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements:


  • Fouryear degree from a recognized postsecondary institution with a specialization in Communications, Project Management, Business, Education, or other related field.
  • Graduate Degree with a specialization in curriculum and quality in higher education is considered an asset. Masters is preferred.
  • Five (5) years' progressive management experience working in a postsecondary setting, with quality assurance and/or accreditation experience.
  • Experience in developing new processes and procedures.
  • Experience working in a fastpaced, unionized setting.
  • Experience understanding the daily operations in an academic environment.
  • Experience in project management, planning, development, and execution of crossdivisional complex projects, including budgetary responsibility. Experience with managing multiple projects with concurrent and competing timelines.
  • Experience in negotiation and conflict resolution, and leading processes for collaboration among teams across various levels of authority.
  • Curriculum mapping expertise.
  • Experience working with various levels of government.
  • Mastery in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, MS-Outlook, and the ability to learn new technology when needed.
