Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate and ensure proper completion of various projects
  • Ensure timelines are maintained
  • Ensure all work is completed with good workmanship
  • Supervise staff and schedule contractors
  • Assist with selection of new staff
  • Deal with performance concerns
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Coordinate materials needed to complete various jobs
  • Use appropriate techniques to manage changes in scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate metrics such as timelines, cost, and scope.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as required.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments

Requirements:


  • Valid Ontario driver's license
  • Minimum 25 years' experience within project management
  • Project Management experience/certificate considered an asset, but not necessary
  • Success in organizing, planning and coordinating project startups, commencement and closeouts
  • Capacity to effectively communicate with and direct the daily activities of skilled workers, suppliers, subcontractors
  • Competence in reporting project progress, citing potential concerns, providing solutions to issues
  • Application of all relevant health and safety regulations and policies, ensure compliance through reporting and administration
  • Reliable vehicle that is available for work at all times
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Proven ability to mentor and train staff
  • Strong renovation background with specific knowledge in painting, flooring, plumbing, carpentry and electrical
  • Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work well under a heavy workload
