Renovation Project Manager - London, Canada - Homestead Land Holdings
Description
Founded in Kingston in 1954, Homestead Land Holdings Limited has grown to become one of Canada's largest and most respected owners of multi-residential apartment buildings.
The founding principles of the company are still in place today, which are to provide residents with affordable, secure housing with a standard of care in which we would treat our own family members.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and ensure proper completion of various projects
- Ensure timelines are maintained
- Ensure all work is completed with good workmanship
- Supervise staff and schedule contractors
- Assist with selection of new staff
- Deal with performance concerns
- Conduct performance evaluations
- Coordinate materials needed to complete various jobs
- Use appropriate techniques to manage changes in scope, schedule, and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate metrics such as timelines, cost, and scope.
- Report and escalate issues to management as required.
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
Requirements:
- Valid Ontario driver's license
- Minimum 25 years' experience within project management
- Project Management experience/certificate considered an asset, but not necessary
- Success in organizing, planning and coordinating project startups, commencement and closeouts
- Capacity to effectively communicate with and direct the daily activities of skilled workers, suppliers, subcontractors
- Competence in reporting project progress, citing potential concerns, providing solutions to issues
- Application of all relevant health and safety regulations and policies, ensure compliance through reporting and administration
- Reliable vehicle that is available for work at all times
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Proven ability to mentor and train staff
- Strong renovation background with specific knowledge in painting, flooring, plumbing, carpentry and electrical
- Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to work well under a heavy workload
