Description

Founded in Kingston in 1954, Homestead Land Holdings Limited has grown to become one of Canada's largest and most respected owners of multi-residential apartment buildings.

The founding principles of the company are still in place today, which are to provide residents with affordable, secure housing with a standard of care in which we would treat our own family members.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and ensure proper completion of various projects
Ensure timelines are maintained
Ensure all work is completed with good workmanship
Supervise staff and schedule contractors
Assist with selection of new staff
Deal with performance concerns
Conduct performance evaluations
Coordinate materials needed to complete various jobs
Use appropriate techniques to manage changes in scope, schedule, and costs.
Measure project performance using appropriate metrics such as timelines, cost, and scope.
Report and escalate issues to management as required.
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments

Requirements:

Valid Ontario driver's license
Minimum 25 years' experience within project management
Project Management experience/certificate considered an asset, but not necessary
Success in organizing, planning and coordinating project startups, commencement and closeouts
Capacity to effectively communicate with and direct the daily activities of skilled workers, suppliers, subcontractors
Competence in reporting project progress, citing potential concerns, providing solutions to issues
Application of all relevant health and safety regulations and policies, ensure compliance through reporting and administration
Reliable vehicle that is available for work at all times
Demonstrated leadership ability
Proven ability to mentor and train staff
Strong renovation background with specific knowledge in painting, flooring, plumbing, carpentry and electrical
Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
Exceptional organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to work well under a heavy workload
