Description

This position is a part time, two day a week position (Saturday & Sunday).

Courtyard Gardens is an independent senior living community and this position is responsible for responding to and performing any hands-on maintenance and preventative maintenance duties.

It is a residential hospitality setting and we are looking for someone who is efficient and deals with duties in friendly manner with consideration for residents and staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs a variety of routine maintenance, servicing and repairs to maintain the home, equipment, furnishings, fixtures and grounds in optimal condition
Ensures the overall efficient operation of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, security and communication systems
Responds to all service requests promptly and maintains records of services provided
Cooperates and collaborates with other departments in such tasks as assisting residents with maintenance needs, moving and storing supplies, furnishings and equipment as well a being available and flexible to resident, family needs, as required

Additional Qualifications

Education:

Minimum of Grade 12 is required
Knowledge of WHMIS and first aid is required

Skills:

12 years' experience in a maintenance environment
Computer skills (e.g., proficient in Word and Excel, must be familiar with electronic building systems)
Communication skills written and verbal in English
Ability to read and interpret manual and drawings related to equipment and systems and audit/deficiency standards
Ability to organize, multitask and meet the physical demands of the job, including problem solving and dealing with emergency situations
Ability to meet targets & deadlines
Ability to be detail & task oriented
