Aunty's Recipe is looking for an experienced bartender/server to join our team Located in the heart of Pickering village we are a family owned and operated gourmet pizza restaurant loved in the neighbourhood due to our outstanding dishes and service.

We are looking for someone who is passionate, welcoming and kind hearted to join our team.

Responsibilities:


  • Creating a memorable dining experience and maintain dining ambiance with an welcoming kindhearted attitude to all customers
  • Advise on about menu selections, daily specials and provide information on food and beverages, as well as other restaurant functions and services
  • Serve food and beverages as well as describe and advise on alcohol sections and mixing drinks
  • Monitor cleanliness and clutter of restaurant
  • Accept and relay Uber, Skip the Dish, Door Dash and delivery via online and phone to the kitchen
  • Keeping kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
  • Obtaining revenue by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments and delivering bills, as well as returning change and dealing with credit card signature slips
  • Address customer complaints and concerns
  • Enforce provincial liquor legislation and regulation

Skills and Requirements

  • Must be of legal age to mix/serve alcoholic beverages
  • Must be willing to work weekends
  • Secondary school (preferred)
  • At least 2 years experience
  • Proficient in English communication
  • Quick, efficient and punctual
  • Clean and tidy appearance
  • Smart Serve certified
  • Food Handling certificate
  • Friendly, conscientious, reliable, and a team player
  • Flexible

Work Conditions and physical capabilities

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Fastpaced environment
  • Physically demanding
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Handling up to 9 kg (20lbs)

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Salary:
$16.00-$18.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Ajax, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- serving: 2 years (preferred)


  • Bartending: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Smart Serve (preferred)
