As Canada's largest mental health care provider, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health provides evidence to drive system and policy change through the implementation of innovations and novel service delivery interventions.

The Azrieli Centre for Neuro-Radiochemistry launched in 2017 as a leading research centre that develops medical imaging agents for brain health.


Position Description
The Azrieli Centre for Neuro-Radiochemistry is seeking a full-time, Permanent Program Officer.

Reporting to the Manager, Azrieli Centre for Neuro-Radiochemistry, the incumbent will lead key initiatives pertaining to the Operations, Facilities, Finance, Policy and Grants teams.

This includes managing projects, developing and implementing processes, training research staff and scientists on new systems, monitoring and providing in-depth review of documentation and assisting the Manager with large-scale projects and initiatives.

Assisting on large-scale initiatives is often confidential and sensitive in nature, and include the following as well as duties as assigned:

  • Liaise with departments such as Finance, IMG, Procurement, Human Resources and Research Services.
  • Liaise with the grants and awards office and facilitate knowledge translation and cross collaboration initiatives.
  • Oversee registration and onboarding of staff and research trainees including completion of supporting documentation.
  • Engage interorganizationally and with external suppliers concerning project activities, operational decisions, scheduling requirements or contractual clarifications.
  • Lead the development of problemsolving and facilitate communications both intra
- and inter-departmentally.

  • Ensure ethical and regulatory compliance of CAMH and Research policies.
  • Develop and implement departmental processes, templates, forms and reports for projects as needed.
  • Monitor and provide indepth review of documentation for compliance, completeness and correctness.
  • Support education and training of all research personnel by developing and delivering educational sessions.
  • Train research staff, trainees and scientists on new research and CAMH policies & procedures
  • Prepare documentation and communication, including drafting letters and presentations.
  • Coordinating meetings and departmental events.
  • Assisting with finances including credit card reconciliations, purchasing, local and conference travels, etc.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in managing projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a grant based research environment.
  • Business and/or financial experience (e.g. reading financial reports and preparing budgets)
  • Advancedlevel knowledge of MS Office Suite of programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other KT and PM software and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate and oversee varied complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to critically analyze, evaluate, and resolve problems
  • Strong communication and motivational skills, and a record of productive and cooperative work with teams and individuals
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively and efficiently with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of diverse projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced knowledge of research office administration and finance practices.
  • High level of literacy and numeracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, tact, and discretion and a genuine interest in supporting scientific research
  • Experience with research training requirements
  • Experience with working in an academic or healthcare environment is an asset
