About the role:


Join the Corporate Governance team in our Corporate Affairs sector, as Specialist, Corporate Governance, working with the Board of Directors and Internal Committees to promote effective decision-making.

As a member of the Corporate Governance team, you will support and facilitate the Governance Framework and corporate decision-making process towards making housing affordable for everyone in Canada.


Please note this is a temporary position of 12 months.

What you'll do:


  • Attend internal corporate committee meetings and Board and Committee meetings, which may require travelling to other locations within Canada.
  • Manage meeting action lists and monitor progress towards resolution. Advise and support clients in addressing actions and determine appropriate reporting mechanisms.
  • Preserve the integrity of the governance process; promote effective and transparent decisionmaking and identify gaps and trends affecting the process.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, government directives, and relevant guidelines of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI); and internal regulations, including bylaws and charter.
  • Benchmark governance processes and maintain a variety of internal and external relationships to identify best practices on governance matters.
  • Keep abreast of evolving directives, standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.

What you should have:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with a minimum of five (5) years experience in governance; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally various clients at all levels, including Board members and Senior Management.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize data, record and summarize realtime discussions.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to focus and concentrate for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Webbased document distribution or filing systems.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).

It would be great if you also had:

  • A Governance Professional of Canada designation (GPC.D).
