Department Overview

  • Architecture Practice helps evolve the bank's Information Technology capabilities in alignment with enterprise and business vision and needs, by maintaining a strategic and risk aware view of the current and evolving IT capabilities. Data Architecture, within the Architecture Practice, is responsible for the Enterprise Data Architecture, and setting the standards, guidelines, and practices to build and strengthen our ability to utilize Data as a critical enterprise asset.

Job Details
The Data Architecture Practice lead should demonstrate the following technical capabilities:

  • Should have extensive background in solving for data architecture concerns across Cloud, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, Mainframe, AI, data integrations, data provisioning, data security/privacy, complex data pipelines, data warehouses, data mesh, data virtualization and data consumption.
  • Should be well versed in legacy and modern data capabilities, including Mainframe and Cloud, supporting technologies, their characteristics and architectural fit to solve enterprise problems.
  • Should be able to architect solutions to treat data as a longterm asset while maintaining compliance with regulatory and enterprise guidelines and policies
  • Create highly effective and innovative teams and streamlined processes to provide DA support on TD initiatives
  • Be an architecture specialist who works cooperatively and be a leader on highly complex and diverse initiatives involving data, while also mentoring their team.
  • Foresee architecture issues / gaps and identity emerging industry trends that are important to the Enterprise.
  • Influence corporate direction and integrate technology from an architecture perspective within the business and IT environments.
  • Work with internal and external customers and IT service providers as needed to ensure compliance with TD Architecture and Security standards.
  • Ensure that all projects that are considered architecturally significant are presented properly at the appropriate architecture review boards and any action items received are addressed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Comp Science or related Engineering discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
