Scope:


Working within a team of dedicated park maintenance professionals, you will be performing a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks, related to maintaining, repairing, and renovating of park structural assets.

These tasks involve considerable physical effort, along with a general understanding of park related structural maintenance activities.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist supervisory staff with inspections, repairs, and renovations of a variety of park structural assets.
  • Complete semiskilled and skilled tasks, related to maintaining, repairing, and renovating of park structural assets.
  • Complete tasks that involve considerable physical effort, in allweather environments.
  • Assists with the maintenance and repair of playgrounds, water parks, sport courts, youth parks, park buildings, park signage, bridges, stairs, fencing, picnic shelters, benches, plazas and other miscellaneous park related structural assets.
  • Maintain a written journal of work completed, including the detailed inputting of work assignments, submitted daily into the City's work management system.

Qualifications:


  • A general understanding of park structural maintenance activities.
  • Completion of grade 12, supplemented by two approved trades related courses relevant to the work, from an accredited postsecondary education institution or professional association.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience and training in the maintenance and construction of structures or an acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's license with safe driving record.

Conditions of Employment:

This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
