Description

Purpose:

Under the direction of the Manager, Fitness, Lifestyle and Customer Service, the Outdoor Recreation Lead will be the primary person responsible for planning the effective day to day operation of York's Outdoor Recreation Programming.

The position will work closely with the Coordinator, Fitness and Lifestyles as well as community partners and service providers.

Education:

Must be a current student.
Current Standard First Aid/CPR Certification.

Experience:

Previous experience programming recreation activities is an asset. Previous experience with outdoor activities is an asset.

Skills:

Thorough knowledge and understanding of outdoor activities including but not limited to Disc Golf, Farm experiences, Cave Exploring, Paddleboarding, Treetop Trekking, Hiking, Skating, Skiing:
Strong knowledge of travel opportunities that exist for transporting students to outdoor programming experiences.
Proven organizational skills, creative thinker.
