Description
Fred Douglas Society is seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator/Accounting Clerk for a full-time, 1 year TERM position.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for the preparation of payroll and benefits records along with the bi-weekly submission of payroll using the Payworks payroll system.

The Payroll/Accounting Clerk is responsible for coordinating and maintaining all payroll and human resources records and information.

They will meet with staff to complete benefit forms and payroll information and submit those benefit forms to HEB Manitoba and Blue Cross.

Following all union rules, you will create reports and manage payroll information to ensure accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll. This position will assist with accounting duties related to the processing of accounts receivable and accounts payable.


Qualifications:


  • Completion of Canadian Payroll Association course, Intermediate Level or equivalent
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently, and manage time appropriately

Experience:


  • Minimum three (3) years practical payroll experience
  • Previous experience with Payworks payroll provider is preferred
  • Experience in the administration of employee benefits, including Pension, Dental, and Group Health plans
  • Experience in working with and interpreting Collective Union Agreements as it relates to Scheduling, Payroll and Benefits
  • Experience in assisting with full cycle accounting

Compensation:


  • Commensurate with experience
  • Fred Douglas Society requires a recent (within 6 months) Police Information Check
& Adult Abuse Registry check. _


Job Type:
Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
$20.00-$26.55 per hour
