The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Lead, Supply Management - Support Services, the Supply Management Transportation & Logistics SME will have a unique opportunity to work with all T&L operational and supply management areas.


The Supply Management Transportation & Logistics SME is a key position that will have a direct impact on the performance and evolution of the Transportation Management System (TMS).

You will be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders at all levels to lead the development of Transportation and Logistics processes, procedures and system enablement.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Drive process excellence through projects, effective training and coaching of system or process changes
  • Work with T&L stakeholders and the SME team to manage prioritization of the supply management TMS roadmap
  • Monitor and use Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to identify areas of opportunity for process improvement
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methods to drive marked improvements in process performance with process owners
  • Work with logistics services and provide guidance for projects; advise buyers on proper use of INCOTERMS 2010

Other Details:


  • Job location: Calgary or Nisku, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8 hour shifts
  • This is a safety sensitive position and requires a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License or equivalent
  • This is temporary assignment for a period of up to 18 months

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years of related industry experience in Transportation & Logistics
  • Business or Technical Diploma, CITT (Canadian Institute of Traffic & Transportation) or P.Log (Professional Logistician) designation preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to gather information, analyze alternatives, plan & develop recommendations to execute work in a value added manner
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to reprioritize tasks quickly in a fastpaced changing environment through frequent interruptions and changing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to use 3Gtms, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), ADP Open Invoice, E1, ComplyWorks & Maximo PD software systems
  • Knowledge of Domestic and International courier services, LTL, FTL, dedicated charter (inland, ocean & air freight)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Domestic and International documentation requirements including customs, duties, import & export shipments & Incoterms
