Reporting to the Lead of Directory Services, the Data Steward ensures that the data in the provincial HealthLink BC Health Services Directory is complete and correct.

The Data Steward will build and maintain relationships with data providers, collect directory data from them, and ensure that the data is made available to the public on a timely basis according to established standards.

The Data Steward will also identify necessary information sources and significant gaps in information coverage.


Job Requirements:


  • Certificate in database or information and referral systems or a related field or equivalent combination of training/experience/education.
  • Experience using data entry systems with strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience working with large and complex database systems that use taxonomy for indexing.
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders.

Preference may be given to applicants who have:

  • Experience writing and editing principles, methods, and techniques appropriate for data entry and plain language.
  • Experience in providing health information in a Call Centre setting or working in a Health Care Setting such as hospitals, longterm care facilities, clinics and medical offices.

About this Position:

There are two (2) permanent opportunities available and one (1) temporary opportunity available until March 31st,2024. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.

This position can be based out of any of the location(s) listed above.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
